Dîner libanais II

On Tuesday I told you about Le Carré du Liban restaurant. Here is some of the food we sampled, dessert and mezzes for starters. Can you tell what they are?

Mardi je vous parlais du Carré du Liban. Voici nos mezzés en dessert et en entrée. Vous les reconnaissez ?

I'm an American; where are the hamburger and BBQ?

Thanks for visiting HDP today and so regularly. You live in a beautiful place and I have enjoyed seeing it through your very artistic eyes.

I think I see some octopus, hummus and pita in the bottom photo. Clueless about the deserts in the top one.

I recognize tentacles and a pastry that is made with filo dough. I'm not terribly worldly in my food.

I would have tried everything but the Octopus. I love Hummus!

C'est bien joliment présenté, cela fait "nouvelle cuisine", sans doute était-ce très bien pour un souper, fin et parfumé et... léger ?

I've had ethiopian food but never lebanon. Looks delicious! Is that a bean paste?

Beaucoup de sucre mais rien que la presentation donne envie d'y aller.
L'humus me tenterait.

Except for the very obvious octopus, I'm at a loss. I hope you enjoyed yourself and time with friends.

Is that a type of salsa in the bottom photo? Looks like our Mexcian salsa here. I see the tentacles. As much as I like to travel, I'm not very adventerous in my eating. :(

Looks tasty! I'm afraid I'm not a sophisticated eater. I eat what tastes good to me so I'd likely sample everything here. :)

The octopus would scare me away.

The challenge is to see your photos and remember the foods! I don't know the Lebanese names for them, but I think I saw Turkish delights, halvah, baklava and other almond pastries, custard, humus, octopus, tomato salad (?)... I'll eat any of those, but can live without the octopus... too rubbery. Had the best baklava ever at a Turkish restaurant in Constanta last week... yum! How'd I do? LOL!

Between Rob and Mandy and Francisca, I think we've covered everything... ;-)

The octopus was deeeelicious!
