Avenue de l'Indépendance Américaine

On this 4th of July, here's a view of Avenue of the American Independence with the palace looming above in the background. The treaty of Versailles, one of the treaties of the Peace of Paris, was signed in the city on September 3, 1783.

Amazing architecture. It makes me thing of the Disney movie "The Aristocats."

I would really like here a street with a name like that!

As much as I love Perth, I do wish we had some building such as these that have been around since 1783, lovely with the palace peeking over the tops of the houses Ciel.

Imagine looking out your window and seeing the Palais Verssailles. Love the rooflines and chimneys. Looks like a great street to honor the American Independance.

I don't think very many people in this country realize the important part France played in our War of Independence! A crucial war.

Hope you are well...will be back soon.

This is a beautiful urban shot; I like the contrast between the palace and the more common buildings, and I also like the wonderful street lamp!
