There was a huge crowd on Avenue de Paris on July 13, waiting for 11 pm... You will of course have recognised the statue of Louis the 14th and Bernar Venet's monumental exhibit. The cakes? Well... after having met Trillian and VP from Livorno last year (here's the post), I had the pleasure of having them for tea at home yesterday before we took a short (and rainy and cold-ish) walk in the city! See LDP's post here.

Great shots, both. I love the colors in the top photo and the treats look delicious. almost too good to eat.
I've been longing to fill a little corner of my stomach with something lovely this last hour. These little cakes would be perfect...but there is nothing like that to be had here at any price.
I like the way Venet's arcs surround Le Roi Soleil. Here, math beats material grandeur.
P.S. Hello VP and Trillian. Hope you're having a lovely holiday. How lucky you are to be spending time with Ciel.
Ohhh, my sugar cravings have been awakened! I should concentrate instead on Louis XIV.
Beautiful photos!

I just came from VP's blog and am delighted to hear that you folks got together again. And i'm jealous of the the lovely looking treats that you shared with one another. Meeting and greeting other bloggers is terrific, esp. in France!!
Both are wonderful. You are so busy these days receiving blog visitors. If that plate is representative of what a visitor could look forward to, I am going to check the plane schedules!
Sounds like you had a fab time with VP and Trillian, is that the back view of the two of them in the first picture Ciel? and as for those sweet treats, oh yum!!

The cakes and the plate are gorgeous!! Are you Marie Antoinette? xxxxxx
Did those two really almost finish the whole plate? Well, can't blame them.
Great that you could get together.
Was this lunch?
And thanks for your info on 'annexes' and rowboats yesterday-- interesting words.
I have this weakness for sweets, can't help it (LOL!), so you can imagine my mouth watering right now!
Not fun for the wait, fun for the get together... Ah ces petits gateaux!

Nice to meet up with fellow bloggers in a beautiful city. I like that top photo, Louis the 14th looks incandescent in the night.

Cakes and good company, what more does one need? :-) I have yet to meet a blogging pal... almost got to meet one in Romania, but we missed each other by a few days... drats! I think it's great to hear about others meeting... I believe we do get to know each other, the essence, if you will, through our posts, and friendships are forged.
