6 ans ! A vous de jouer !

Today VDP is six years old. VDP won't blah blah on about how it seems like a lifetime since the first post on a wickedly cold winter day in 2009 but is looking forward to the next year! Once again, to thank all of you who take the time to visit, comment and interact with the author of this blog, VDP is having a prize draw. First prize is the above 10x21 cm (3.93x8.26") photograph by local photographer Versalis Vice whose first exhibition you witnessed on this blog about a fortnight ago (here and here). The photograph, titled  'alongside the canal' (i.e. the grand canal at Versailles palace) comes unframed and of course without watermark. Second prize is a cotton shopping bag sporting one of Didier Paquignon's paintings which were exhibited last year at Lambinet Museum. You had seen the exhibition here. Please take a moment to read the rules and leave a comment on this post before 23 hours 59 (CET) on 4 February. The draw will take place shortly afterwards (though perhaps not in the middle of the night!) Thank you again!

Aujourd'hui VDP a six ans. VDP ne va pas blablater sur l'éternité que ça fait depuis le premier billet, posté dans la froidure de 2009 mais a hâte de voir ce qui se passera cette année ! Une fois de plus, pour remercier tous ceux d'entre vous qui prennent le temps de vous arrêter sur ce blog, de commenter et d'interagir avec son auteur, VDP organise un petit tirage au sort. Le premier prix, c'est un tirage 10x21 cm de la très belle photo ci-dessus de Versalis Vice (qui vient d'ouvrir une boutique en ligne par ici), intitulée "au bord du canal". Vous avez récemment vu le vernissage de la première expo de ce jeune photographe du coin, c'était ici et là. Il s'agit, bien évidemment, des bords du grand canal du château de Versailles. Il n'y aura naturellement pas de filigrane sur la photo qui n'est pas non plus encadrée. Le second prix, c'est ce sac en coton sur lequel est imprimée l'une des toiles de Didier Paquignon. Vous aviez vu son expo au Musée Lambinet sur le blog l'an passé, c'était ici. Allez, il ne vous reste plus qu'à jeter un œil sur les règles du jeu et à laisser un commentaire sur ce billet avant 23 h 59 (GMT+1) le 4 février. Cinq ans ! Vous tentez votre chance ?

Today VDP is five years old. On its first birthday, I showed you a delightful antiques shop window: it was here. This photo was taken round about the same time, perhaps even on the same day. VDP has kept it all this time because she loves everything about this display. This Saint-Louis neighbourhood antiques shop still exists, by the way. Never ever would I have imagined that I'd last five years in this 'business' but it's still a lot of fun despite some downs! Thank you all for your support! Without you, there would be no point in continuing!

Aujourd'hui VDP a cinq ans. Lors de son premier anniversaire, je vous avais montré une superbe vitrine d'antiquaire, c'était ici. Cette photo avait été prise à peu près en même temps, voire le même jour. VDP l'a toujours gardée jalousement pour soi parce qu'elle l'adore. Cet antiquaire du quartier Saint-Louis existe encore. Jamais je n'aurais imaginé tenir cinq ans, mais je m'éclate toujours autant malgré quelques bas ! Merci à tous pour votre soutien ! Sans vous, il n'y aurait pas de raison de continuer !

Tout d'abord, merci à tous pour vos mots si gentils et pour avoir participé au tirage au sort. VDP a deux ans : coussin à gagner !

So VDP is two years old. Who'd have thought it? To celebrate its second birthday, here's a homemade cushion I sewed, sporting a photograph that appeared on this blog on 10 September 2009. It measures 51x32 cm (20x12"). To win it, the rules are simple : leave a comment on this post before tomorrow 1 Feb. midnight (CET) and I will fish the winner's name out of a bowl!

Some restrictions do apply:

i) The winner recognises that I will need his/her full mailing address to send it off via La Poste;

ii) If you do not want to participate, in other words if you dislike the prize (!), please mention it in your comment, I won't be offended, lol!;

iii) Most importantly, as I am sure you will understand, I would like to reward those of you who regularly take time to comment on VDP. Hence only names that are known on VDP will be entered in the prize draw.

Et voilà. Deux ans déjà, qui l'eût cru ? Pour célébrer dignement ce deuxième anniversaire, voici un coussin fait maison que j'ai cousu avec une photo parue le 10 septembre 2009. Il mesure 51x32 cm. Pour le gagner, c'est simple comme bonjour : laissez-moi un commentaire sur ce billet avant demain 1/02 minuit heure française et je tirerai au sort parmi tous les commentateurs !

Bon, comme dans tous les jeux, il y a quelques conditions :

i) le/la gagnant(e) reconnaît que j'aurai besoin de son adresse complète pour pouvoir le lui envoyer par la Poste ;
