The army. They are everywhere these days in larger French cities. Well, they were already present before the tragic events of 7-9 January 2015 albeit more discreetly: security has been reinforced everywhere, in front of a great many public buildings as well as Jewish schools and synagogues. Beautiful Versailles synagogue, which VDP had shown you here and here, is no exception. It is guarded 24/7 and it is now forbidden to park anywhere near it. Shame is the word that comes to mind... Below, a shot of the building from a distance, seen from nearby Saint Joan of Arc church. After the terrorist attack in Tunis this last week, security will no doubt be heightened again...
L'armée. Elle est visible partout dans les grandes villes. Elle l'était déjà avant mais tellement plus depuis les événements tragiques de janvier. La belle synagogue de Versailles, que VDP vous montrait ici et là, ne fait pas exception à la règle, il est également interdit de se garer à proximité. Honte est le terme qui vient à l'esprit de VDP... Ci-dessous, la synagogue vue depuis l'église Sainte Jeanne d'Arc.
