Le buffet d'eau en eau !

VDP had shown you the 'water buffet' in the gardens of Grand Trianon castle and told you about the marble and the architect here. On 15 August, she was gobsmacked when she saw the flowing water, it was so beautiful and made such a difference with the previous post!

VDP vous avait montré le buffet d'eau de Mansart dans les jardins du Grand Trianon et parlé du marbre et de l'architecte ici. Le 15 août, elle a été époustouflée par la beauté en eau ! Quelle différence avec les précédentes photos "sèches" !

September City Daily Photo Theme Day: Rust and Ruins

So it's September. VDP couldn't find rust AND ruins. Rust yes, ruins not really but decay would have been okay. Rust AND ruins proved impossible (though naturally she might find something tomorrow...) Anyway, so here's rust. Above, a cherub on the 'Water Buffet', one of Mansart's masterpiece fountains at Grand Trianon castle in the palace grounds. VDP had told you about it here (more to come tomorrow). Premier du mois, jour à thème dans la communauté des blogueurs City Daily Photo. Le thème du mois, c'est rouille et ruines. Bon, impossible de trouver les deux. Délabrement et rouille, oui. Mais pas rouille et ruine. Donc VDP a opté pour la rouille seule. Ci-dessus, l'un des chérubins du buffet d'eau, la merveille de Mansart au Grand Trianon que VDP vous présentait ici (et d'autres photos sont à venir). Ci-dessous, des motards arrivant au château le 16 août dernier devant de la ferronnerie très rouillée. Pour voir les interprétations du monde entier sur ce thème, c'est par ici ! Le buffet d'eau

Presenting the Carrara and Languedoc marble 'Water Buffet' in the gardens of Grand Trianon, Neptune and Amphitrite at the top. It was designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart. Water only rarely flows here, but you can watch a video of the delightful cascades here.

Réalisée en marbres de Carrare et du Languedoc, cette fontaine représentant au sommet Neptune et Amphitrite fut dessinée par Jules Hardouin-Mansart. L'eau y coule trop rarement, vous pouvez voir les jolies cascades sur cette vidéo. Un article intéressant pour plus d'infos, c'est par ici.
