Gymnase Richard Mique

This is Richard Mique gymnasium in Clagny neighbourhood. Now the name Richard Mique might not ring a bell yet we owe him, amongst others, Marie-Antoinette's theatre, the temple of love, the Belvedere, all at the Petit Trianon estate in the palace grounds. He was also the architect of what is now Lycée Hoche which I showed you here. Weekend Reflections is this way!

Voici le gymnase Richard Mique à Clagny. Le nom ne vous dit peut-être pas grand chose, pourtant nous lui devons notamment le théâtre de Marie-Antoinette, le temple de l'amour, le Belvédère au Petit Trianon. Il fut également l'architecte de ce qui est maintenant le lycée Hoche, que je vous montrais ici. Les reflets du weekend, c'est par ici !

Collège de Clagny

Back to cold and snowy after a lovely spring Saturday... A modern sculpture in the back yard of Clagny college. Collège is the first level of secondary education in the French educational system, usually entered at approximately age 10.

La chapelle de Clagny

This chapel is located in the verdant and leafy residential area of Clagny. It was constructed in 1885 but has ceased to be used for holy mass since the 1920s and now serves as chaplaincy for two Versailles schools as well as parish house for the neighbourhood.

La chapelle se situe dans le quartier verdoyant et résidentiel de Clagny. Elle a été construite en 1885 mais dès les années 1920, elle cesse d'être un lieu de culte. Elle sert aujourd'hui d'aumônerie pour les collèges Hoche et Clagny ainsi que de maison paroissiale pour le quartier.
