Twizy

Back in October, VDP wanted to show you the cute new Renault Twizy (pronounced tweezee) vehicles of the palace grounds surveillance and security staff. That was a fail... These little things are fantastic to get around Paris, and especially to park there!

Wedding season is slowly going to come to an end... This was a Citroën Traction Avant last Saturday in front of the town hall! Stylish or what?

While the two scooters are very often side by side in Saint-Louis neighbourhood, VDP had never yet seen them with complementary cars behind them!

This old gentleman was as nonplussed as VDP was at the sight of this car in Notre-Dame neighbourdhood until VDP saw the message on the windshield: 'xxx from us all, we love you!' This made all the passers-by chuckle!

VDP a été aussi interloquée que ce monsieur à la vue de cette voiture, jusqu'à ce qu'elle voie le mot sur le pare-brise ! Ça a fait rire plus d'un passant !

On the road

VDP will be on the road back home today... Unlike this Mini which was on its way out of the city on 14 December, in Clagny neighbourhood!

VDP sera sur la route du retour aujourd'hui... Cette Mini, elle, n'est pas loin de la limite de la ville à Clagny !

La voiture des mariés

Some of you have seen this deux-chevaux before, but not on this blog. This was the Saint-Louis cathedral wedding that was masterfully photographed by Bob of Saint Louis (Missouri) Daily Photo. If you've missed his post, it's this way. VDP's photos aren't as good as Bob's but I still thought I'd post them! Seen here below is the cathedral with its chandeliers lit for the occasion and decorated with little bows! VDP thinks that choosing an iconic deux-chevaux to get married is just about the most romantic thing ever, so much better than huge limos!

Certains d'entre vous ont déjà vu cette deux-chevaux mais pas sur ce blog. C'était le mariage dans la cathédrale Saint-Louis qui a été magistralement photographié par Bob de Saint Louis Daily Photo dans le Missouri. Si vous aviez raté son billet, cliquez ici. Les photos de VDP ne sont pas aussi bonnes que les siennes mais bon, il eut été dommage de ne pas les poster du tout. Ci-dessous, la cathédrale à la lumière de ses lustres et décorée pour l'occasion !

Lego Land Rover

Now isn't this the coolest Land Rover ever? This photo was actually taken by Marid'Oh, whose lovely little designs can be found here on her website or there on Facebook. VDP has featured her sweet stuff last year when she held one of the 'handmade in Versailles' stalls at the Christmas market! Note who's on the fender...

VDP avait montré ses jolies décos de Noël made à la main in Versailles l'an dernier lorsqu'elle tenait un stand au marché de Noël. Notez qui se trouve sur le pare-chocs...

Excalibur ?

Seen outside Saint-Louis cathedral the weekend before last... VDP thinks it might be an Excalibur (based on Olivier's comment on this post). Correct VDP if she is wrong...

Vue sur le parvis de la cathédrale Saint-Louis l'avant-dernier weekend. VDP pense qu'il s'agit d'une Phaeton Excalibur (du moins c'est ce qu'avait indiqué Olivier sur cette ancienne photo). Corrigez VDP si elle se trompe !

Seen last week on the queen's boulevard. Dunno what it is... Update: thanks to the comments, VDP now knows that this is a Juva 4! The restaurant that owns it was photographed here!

February City Daily Photo Theme Day: Entry

 February already! Those of you who have been following VDP for a while might remember the Young Old Timer Club. For the third year, those youngsters organised a night race of old and vintage cars on 25 January and VDP attended part of the afternoon registration process on Avenue de Paris. Amongst them was this BNC (Bollack, Netter et Compagnie), a French car builder of the 1920s, the first one to register for the 'nocturnal' (la nocturne). Does it qualify for 'entry'? Déjà le mois de février ! Ceux qui suivent VDP depuis un certain temps se souviendront peut-être du Young Old Timer Club. Le 25 janvier, c'était le troisième rallye nocturne de voitures anciennes et vintage et VDP s'est rendue à l'enregistrement des participants avenue de Paris dans l'après-midi. Parmi les voitures, il y avait cette BNC (Bollack, Netter et Compagnie), un constructeur français des années 1920 de Levallois-Perret. Le thème du mois de février de la communauté des blogueurs City Daily Photo est "entry", ce qui peut notamment se traduire par la candidature à un événement, d'où ces photos, puisque la BNC porte le numéro 1. Pour voir les voitures du rallye de 2012, c'est par ici ! Pour voir quelques autres photos des véhicules de 2014, c'est par ici. VDP vous souhaite un excellent mois de février ! Parking

This is a late night shot of the underground public parking beneath Notre-Dame market. There's an original old Mini Cooper parked at the back! It was VDP's first car!

Tard le soir dans le parking souterrain du marché Notre-Dame. Il y a une vieille Mini Cooper garée au fond ! C'était la première voiture de VDP !
