Very nice looking houses and an interesting way to shoot them. Have a great week.

Typical style? Totally amazing. Are the old, or are they being built currently with an historic look? I like the trend here. At least we've gotten over much of the horrible architecture of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

These are gorgeous, Ciel. Incredible facades. I'll bet they are expensive, though!

Interesting and decorative design elements on them.

oh, look at these, the brick work and roofs are wonderful!

This is a very nice typical! I especially like the detailing on those roofs.

Wow, that's typical?! It's very pretty. Is this neighborhood unusual from other neighborhoods, or why is this style typical for it?

If that's typical, I'd like to see how the non-typical people live :-)
I love the brickwork. The roof appears to be slate, so I'm guessing they are pretty old (here in the US you rarely see new slate roof's). The cornerstones look very fresh, perhaps recently painted? Did I mention I like the photograph too? I could stare at the details for hours.

I like the brickwork!

The buildings look like they are raring back and ready to strike something. I fear for the delicate brickwork.

Some good examples of the bricklayers skill here.

If these are typical I'll be back in Versailles next summer...

I've never seen anything like this. Fascinating! I'll be "Googling" Montreuil soon to get the scoop on the architecture.

«Louis» remembers that Montreuil has a distinctive style of architecture as witnessed by these houses.

@ all wondering about these houses: they are only partly brick, the rest is meulière stone (for more info click on the label "meulière" beneath the post.

These meulière houses, mostly built at the turn of the last century, are pretty common in Montreuil neighbourhood which was a rural part of Versailles before the city's expansion East began. So yes, they are quite typical but not all of them have such pretty details and turrets.

All those angles make for an interesting shot.

I'm with Rebecca. All those lines and angles, what a pleasant place to let the mind wander astray. Well snapped!
