La colonnade du Grand Trianon

An archive photo today: the very classical marble colonnade of the Grand Trianon castle in the Palace grounds.

This is so cool-looking (I mean that literally)...cool and clean and shiny. And, as Lorrie said, elegant!

By the way, we ate in a little bakery cafe for lunch today...French-themed...we had baguette sandwiches which were delicious!

They sure knew how to decorate back in the day. Very nice.

The pattern of the floor is almost hypnotic, I like the geometry of the image.

Beautiful composition. I love the arches and how the wallpaper doesn't really match the floor! I think Louis needed a better interior decorator. :)

You could have so many chess games taking place there at the same time.

I don't know which one I most like, the colonnade or the tiled floor, so I'll take both! :-)

Besides your flower photos (and many others), I think the palace photos are among my faves, since I've never been there. This is wonderful. However, I have to report that B SQUARED just scared me.

Very nice shot, Ciel! I like how the angle of the tiles is drawing my eyes towards the archways.
