When we went to Paris, we knew nothing! I mean nothing! So, we were delighted to see how so many buildings are built around an inner area or courtyard, and I took photos like this, too.
@ all: this is just a building with apartments in it, probably built in the mid to late 18th century. Many houses in cities in France have inner courtyards, simply because a long time ago, that's where the horses would have been kept.

Great shot...great memories. Thanks!
What a great find and well captured by you.
It looks intriguing, I'm wondering what it opens onto.
A bit of mystery here to draw in viewers. What lies behind?
Handsome doorway . . . don't forget your November 1 theme day!
It looks as if an Angel protects one as they enter onto this street. Nice...
Such privacy and seclusion. What goes on behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors!
like the view your photo provides of the distance environment! Nice cherub above the doorway also!
Looking inside raises more questions than answers.
Nice shot! I like the composition, and the door with beautiful details is very pretty.

I love peeking behind doors and gates. You never know what you will find. Sweet little cherub in the pediment.
I love the blue.It is a nice color.
I like seeing behind the door into the inner courtyard. It's a very nice doorway too. I hope you are saving up a really grand doorway for theme day.
Un regard et une pensée ...
La poésie dans le cœur!
J'ai adoré cette photo!
