Its a beautiful monument. The ones in France are different to the ones we have here in the UK. I hate when you see more than one of the same surname on these. xx
So sad, but so wonderful to know they will always be honored.

That is just so beautiful. You don't see them like that around here.
It is a wonderful memorial. MB

The national flag flying is the hard-won prize for all those named in stone.
Olive branches in one hand but still the sword in the other.
It's beautiful. Love the light and the flags. Great job!
Such places make me always think when I pass by.
Your photo is a wonderful memorial, Ciel. The light is great and the flags behind add to the effect. I clicked on your link. The two photos have such different effects from a rainy day and a bright one and two different perspectives.
What an intricate design. Lots of symbolism here I bet.
Beautiful tribute, and wonderful image. The light brings out the texture of the artwork, and the inclusion of the flags is perfect.
Fabulous shot! The statue looks magnificent. And I like how you caught the flags, too :D
I like the statue and the bas-reliefs.
It looks very dramatic.
Wonderful sculpture and very well composed shot, Ciel.
Beautiful shot and monument
A handsome angel to look over the souls of soldiers lost. Well composed Ciel,
Some events should not be forgotten. This is one of them.
