Xavier Veilhan au château

Until December, several of Xavier Veilhan's sculptures are visible at the palace. This one, aptly called "the carriage" stands right in the main courtyard. In the first picture, you can see the king's stables in the background. More information this way.

Is this as large as it appears? If so, it must be a job to move from place to place. It's a marvelous sculpture, very appropriately placed, I'd say.

Those are some incredible sculptures! They must be relatively "new" as we didn't see them when we were there...too bad.

Oh I love the sculpture to be found all around France. This one is lovely and you captured the light so well!

When I looked at the enlargement I saw how modern and how neat the wheels and feet are. It is so nice to be living with such great art.

An exciting sculpture.
The 30 horses who live in the stable are very privileged. Thanks for the links to their website. Amazing horses and Academy!!

How interesting! At first I thought it was a live scene but then the horses feet gave it away.

They look more like greyhounds than horses, but the sculpture is striking.

@ Jacob: they are part of an temporary exhibition that began on Sept. 13, thru December.
@VP: that's what I thought!
@ EG: yes, it is huge!

Love the sculpture and that it's purple. M. Veilhan could not ask for a better gallery for his work.

It made me think of the song 'wild, wild horses could not drag me away' - different time, different horses, but for some reason...
So much motion in the photos - super!

It seems rather star-warrish. I think I would have to see this in person to see if I liked it.

That's a very interesting sculpture that quite befits to the location. I like the sense of speed, especially on the second photo.

Very cool. Action, shapes, colors, and of course the contrast of old and new. Thanks for the view. It's such fun to visit Versailles this way! They're leaving in December? That's sad, but I wonder what will come in their place.
