Jardins de l'hôtel particulier de Madame Du Barry

This is a peek into the garden of what once was Madame Du Barry's house on the avenue de Paris. Maybe you will notice the horse chestnut in full pink bloom on the right. I will tell you more about the royal mistress... In the meantine, here's her portrait, executed by the talented and pretty Elisabeth Vigée-Le Brun.

I love the blues and greens in the garden.

What makes this shot so special is the hanging lamp...I don't know why...maybe it pulls everything together and leads to a focus on the middle.

Anyway, all that blather means I like it a lot!

du Barry was quite elegant gold digger, wasn't she? But in the end she met le rasoir national like so many of her kind. Money - or sex with rich people - doesn't buy happiness.

Love how you got that tall lamp post in the photo. Beautiful scene. You have an interesting topic to write about and share photos.

Beau pavillon !
