This is a peek into the garden of what once was Madame Du Barry's house on the avenue de Paris. Maybe you will notice the horse chestnut in full pink bloom on the right. I will tell you more about the royal mistress... In the meantine, here's her portrait, executed by the talented and pretty Elisabeth Vigée-Le Brun.

what a great angle...and what a fabulous blue sky!
I love the blues and greens in the garden.
What makes this shot so special is the hanging lamp...I don't know why...maybe it pulls everything together and leads to a focus on the middle.
Anyway, all that blather means I like it a lot!
Dear Ciel!
Always your posts are perfect!Great job!
hummmmmmm royal mistress, it looks very interesting !I want to read more about her!
Many thanks
Léia
du Barry was quite elegant gold digger, wasn't she? But in the end she met le rasoir national like so many of her kind. Money - or sex with rich people - doesn't buy happiness.
Love how you got that tall lamp post in the photo. Beautiful scene. You have an interesting topic to write about and share photos.
courtisane, ça valait le coup, un bel hôtel particulier et un superbe jardin...
Oh the lush greenery and the blue blue sky are to be envied.
A great photo, love the colors. I couldn't wait so I googled the lady. Interesting reading it was!
Beau pavillon ! Etre dans les bonnes grâces de Louis XV n'était pas négligeable.
Elle l'a payé cher à la révolution, remarque.
Wonder how many fascinating people have strolled in the garden.
It looks like such a lovely spring day!
Nice shot! Everything is in so great colour - green:)
I love the lantern in the garden, very pretty.
