That is what a town hall should look like! Beautiful structure - so imposing and majestic!
And so nice to have a town ice rink right there.
Up until last year the Ocala city fathers put up an indoor ice rink (tented) which was great fun for the kids...but, I think budget cuts did that in! Too bad.
ca devient de plus en plus a la mode des patinoires devant les mairies, a Evry ils ont resolus le problemes, la place est completement glacée alors ca coute moins cher qu'une vrai patinoire ;)
So that is town hall, eh. Very nice. I love to ice skate although I haven't for years. I don't even know what happened to my skates. But I was in my element. I can feel the festivities. I am better. MB
When I lived in Rhode Island, the Providence City Hall, a Second Empire Baroque style building, also had an ice rink nearby. Not in front, just a little to the right of the building, but it was always crowded, especially at Christmas when the decorations and lights drew you in.

I saw "liberte egalite fraternite" on the building, I was not aware it is the French national motto.
I like the Christmas balls around the rink. There's a pretty cool reflection in both the light blue balls in the top photo.
What a joy it must be living where something alike is possible !
Please have you all a wonderful Sunday.

Stately and beautiful.
Are there often ice rinks in front? This looks like a "mini" (OK, not so mini) version of the HdV in Paris. Both are lovely and get your attention!

Beautiful, Ciel. An imposing building.
Beautiful, and patriotic too.
Comme l'hôtel de ville à Paris.
;-D
@ all: @ all: ice-rink only during the festive season. Follow the link for last year's photos of the ice-rink.
I don't know how to ice skate but I've always wanted to learn and that looks like the perfect setting to do so!
I'm just jealous you have a ice rink in front of city hall! I'd be there every day ;-)
Dis donc, ce noël sera patriotique ou ne sera pas!peut-être un peu plus de guirlandes et un peu moins de drapeaux auraient été plus christmassy..
I remember this, it's nice with the snow. How about the floral clock?
An ice rink, that's something we still gotta try! Must be fun!
God bless you!

@ VP: last time I saw the floral clock it was all engulfed in white! ;-)

So nice. I want to go for a skate there.
Des patinoires pour les administrés, et les voitures elles patinent aussi à l'occasion....mais ça, c'est pas voulu....ou du moins pas maîtrisé.
A public outdoor ice rink! How fun! I've always wanted to live in a town with one.
