Weekend Reflections: le Tribunal de grande instance

Versailles city centre's ugliest building (in my humble opinion), the Tribunal de grande instance, first degree civil law court, reflected in a window for James' Weekend Reflections.
--------------------------

Well, ugly though it may be (and I agree with you about its ugliness), but it sure makes for a good reflection shot!

I think it's unanimous; it is pretty ugly. I like the pattern in the reflection and the bonus reflection in the car windows!

Looks a bit like a radiator.

Another good reason not to be a lawyer. I've thought about doing a bad architecture series but never got around to it.

Interesting building in that reflection.

Oh, you're back and I'm leaving. This makes for a good reflection shot though. We'll meet up again soon!

That's a building? I thought it was an old railroad car. MB

Makes sense. Merely having to visit becomes the beginning of a punishment, at least for those interested in aesthetics.

Well, I don't know if it's the ugliest...but from what I can see from your other photos, it sure ain't the prettiest :-D

We certainly have uglier buildings, always public ones, but this is quite well placed in any list!

Maybe it was designed this way to stand out from the beautiful buildings?

TGI, I learned another abbreviation today with you.My teacher said French speakers like to do these abbreviations, like QCM( questionnaire à choix multiple) or un SDF.It's cool!!!
The reflection is perfect in your picture, very well captured.Maybe the architecture is simple compares to those classic buildings in Paris, I don't know...
Have a nice weekend!

Oh my! It really is out of place in Versailles.

Julie ScottsdaleDailyPhoto.com said...

Yes this is a very different type of architecture for your beautiful area

Halcyon said...

Not the most attractive building for sure. But you got the reflection right!

Louis la Vache said...

It is indeed ugly, and (as B SQUARED wrote) it is out of place in Versailles - but ugly and out of place as it is, it isn't as bad as le centre Pompidou...

Bon Weekend

Yes, it is ugly, but a great reflection and that's what counts today! Hope you have a great weekend, Ciel!

Rather the ugly duckling reflected there... not sure it's ever turn into a swan, though! :-D

À mon avis... you are right but you took it and made a great reflection. I wonder why in Versailles of all places the government would build something out of the character of the ville.

Bon weekend,
Genie

It may be ugly but it makes a great reflection. :) Welcome back!!!

I agree with you. What are those stripes or slabs of vertical concrete?

I love the way the titles sound so dignified in French. I agree, it is not an attractive building. It certainly doesn't look "French."

Irene said...

I agree ... It doesn't look very nice, but the reflection does :o)

Hehehe! Every town has at least one ugly building. :) Cool reflection though!

Yeah... not so nice.. Quite stripy and boxy.

Functional, maybe. And the people inside probably are more productive what with not having to worry about their appearance. Well, maybe not...

Hee hee I read the radiator comment and now that it is mentioned, it does look like one.
