Semaine du goût I

On Saturday, during national "Taste Week", a farmers market was held in the grounds of Madame Elisabeth's domain. Versailles is the 'chef lieu' (roughly translated as county town) of the Yvelines department of France, one of the largest départements in the country. It is mostly rural and therefore there are farmers not too far away! For more info about Louis the 16th's sister's grounds, click on the label below. This coming week I won't be able to visit your blogs as often as usual, I hope you will excuse me.
-------------------------

Hi, I reviewed all your photos of Madame Elisabeth's place -- wonderful shots. The colors are beautiful and you've given me ideasof what I may want to do when photographing landscapes. thank you I enjoy your work and visit your site just about each day.

You're excused.

I tried that once and everybody said there was no excuse for me! Oh well!

Ah...we have days we call "Taste of Ocala." Other cities do a similar thing. We've attended "Taste of Minnesota" in St. Paul.

Lots of fun. Too much to eat. I can imagine your Taste Week offered multitudinous opportunities to stuff one's gullet!

Do the farmers wear tuxedos too? ;-) I really like the tops of the tents - they look like mountain tops or very large white Hershey kisses. Looking forward to Pont Neuf :-)

For some reason this reminds me of the scene from Camelot, although the building is much to modern. I expect to see Arthur and Guinevere strolling through.

My family and I love the markets in France. Our favourite meal on earth is the chicken and potatoes that they cook on the spits. Wish I was there. xxx

I always take my time in these markets, so many good things around...

Hi Ciel: I thought you were going to be too busy to comment this week! :-)

I'm not complaining, believe me...it was a nice surprise to learn you're still round and about.

With re to Cedar Key: Yes, that is a sand lane. You'd love it. And Lois Anne will cook anything for me! Heh, heh. I'm a lucky guy.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

What a grand setting this is. I think about our farmer's markets in Vermont and look at this and smile at the differences. Hope the week goes well, Ciel, whatever is absorbing your time and attention.

I came back and now you are leaving. Such is life. I read through all the postings I missed.
Sorry about the petrol shortage and the strike. Ick! I remember those too.
Love a farmers market but October is the last month for around here, MB

The tents are eye catching! I love going to get fresh fruits and veggies at the farmer's market here. I imagine yours is just as good!

If you are traveling, be safe.
