Une Deuche place du marché Notre-Dame

There aren't many Citroën 2CV ("two steam horses") around anymore, though there seems to be one in Eagan, Minnesota! There's the new Mini, the new Beetle, the gorgeous new Fiat 500, we guys are wondering why Citroën hasn't yet followed with the new Deux Chevaux...
----------------------------

Yeah, these cars are too cool. Every time I see a photo they look like they've been lovingly refurbished. I'm sure the owner knows how lucky they are.

Voila! Marie de Montepelier found her way from Eagan back to France! I just hope she knows her way home from Versailles! Tres amusant! Merci beaucoup!!

You've heard me whining about my long work hours recently, and so lacking time for my and my friends blogs. But I can't pass by a Deux Chevaux. Blast from the past.

I don't recall ever seeing one of these in the States (Eagan doesn't count! That's in Minnesota).

But I'd love to ride in one or drive one. How do they compare to more "modern" cars?

«Louis» wants a 2CV for his shop!

Oh, I had almost forgotten about the Deux Chevaux. But it was the first car I got a ride in when I moved to Israel in 1968. It sort of jumped like a rabbit. :)

c'était ma première voiture, d'enfer comme voiture (sauf en hiver, ou tu crèves de froid). Je crois qu'il réfléchisse a refaire une nouvelle version

It has been years since I saw one of these here at home. In Italy it was never so popular as the Renault R4 or the Citroën Diane, probably it was too much even for Fiat 500 drivers.
This was the last 2CV I have seen...

If you know the movie 101 Dalmatians, seeing this photo makes me feel as if Cruella DeVil will hop out any minute!

Are you forgetting the Pluriel? That was Citroen's "updated" version of the 2CV. I was set to buy a pretty orange one before I found out that we'd be coming to Jackson.

@Jacob: a world of difference!

@Halcyon: I'll take the new new one. Once it's out!

What a cool looking car. I never see anything like that around here. I keep forgeting to tell you that I like your signature.

Ciel would you mind explaining Weekend Reflections to Nefertiti? My French is not very good. :)

I have a friend here in Yorkshire and his is a red one and oddly when I said I saw it parked near my house and he said no it is in the garage being fixed! So thats 2 very similar red 2CV near where I live. But they stand out because there are not so many any more.

I would love one of these!

The Pluriel is out. It's been around for about five years now. It's sooo cute! Wish we had French cars here. :)

Je vous signale que la deuche est toujours fabriquée entre MArseille et Cassis de façon artisanale
