La voiture des mariés

Deux Chevaux wedding Versailles
Some of you have seen this deux-chevaux before, but not on this blog. This was the Saint-Louis cathedral wedding that was masterfully photographed by Bob of Saint Louis (Missouri) Daily Photo. If you've missed his post, it's this way. VDP's photos aren't as good as Bob's but I still thought I'd post them! Seen here below is the cathedral with its chandeliers lit for the occasion and decorated with little bows! VDP thinks that choosing an iconic deux-chevaux to get married is just about the most romantic thing ever, so much better than huge limos!

I love that sweet little car.

You under-rate yourself. The picture of that Citroen is a delight, a ugly duckling dressed in wedding finery.

And welcome back.

These are great carsand now really valued by enthusiasts. I remember getting rides in these in the late 60's when I hitch hiked through France to Spain.

In my students days it was known as the "STUDENT JAGUAR". Not many around here up in Norway, but those who are lucky owners of one, LOVE their cars:)

En Bretagne c'était une vieille "méhari" qui était la voiture des mariés !

I would choose that over a limo any day!

So beautiful Ciel.. I loved Bob's photos too.. it's always so interesting to see the same situation through different eyes. Sometimes I think men see a more realistic scene and we a more romantic vision, especially where weddings are concerned :)

A majestic place in which to be married...but then such a tiny getaway car! I love the contrast!

I never considered this thing a car, but a lot of people like it... Anyway I do like the cathedral!

I agree, it's much more romantic. I love it.

The choice of the car tells us it must be a cool couple, different from those who prefer a 150m long white limo... ;-)

Nothing wrong with your photos. It is fun seeing how two different people capture the same event. Welcome back!
