Poubelles bleues

A little while ago, Jack in Hartford, Connecticut posted pictures of trash day. Here's Versailles' recycling reply, as seen in Notre-Dame neighbourhood on a Thursday!

Il y a quelques temps, Jack à Hartford dans le Connecticut postait des photos des poubelles de recyclage. Voici la réponse de Versailles, les poubs de recyclage dans le quartier Notre-Dame !

So neat. In the top shot, they look like little blue soldiers.

We have blue garbage cans for one trash pick-up company and green one for another company here in EAGAN!

They are so much nicer than ours. I wish we could get more people to use them.

Hmmm, maybe a garbage meme. We have pretty much the same as Jack, but ours is high tech - there's an RFID tag built in the can. When they pick up your recycling, they give you points based on the weigh of the recycled items. After you recycle like 5,000 tons of cans and bottles, you can cash in for a $10 iTunes gift card (it's better than nothing!). I just wish people would use ANY trash receptacle, I hate liter.

Your system looks quite similar to ours, Cieldequimper, although our streets are so very different from yours.

In the region where I live, the residential areas have black on Tuesday and pink on Thursday. Pink is for recycling, and black is for garbage! Interesting choice of blue color...like it!

A pretty blue.
A nice system. I wish my country were so organized.

(So that's how you spell poubelles.
It was one of the first words I picked up while working in the Swiss monastery refectoire; the other was fumier de cheval, for the jardin.)

Only you could make blue recycle bins look so appealing. I'm sorry to be so remiss in commenting, I'm under a deadline that I'm scrambling to meet!

... welch eine nette "Mülltonnenkonversation" :)))

The blue containers actually match quite nicely with all those French blue doors!
