Sunday Bridge Series: voies de chemin de fer de Chantiers

This... er... trashy place above the railway at Chantiers train station gives VDP another opportunity to participate in Sunday Bridge Series. Not the most beautiful view but I actually liked the photo op.

Un peu trash pour Versailles, ce pont qui enjambe les voies de la gare de Chantiers donne à VDP l'occasion de participer aux Ponts du dimanche. Pas une très belle vue mais j'ai aimé la photographier.

A nice shot of the bridge and environs! In the USA, so often there is trashy stuff around the railroad tracks! If I get a chance I'll take a picture.

Oh, my kind of place, I have some similar things posting this week!! I'd like to check out the view from the bridge, but I suppose that's too dangerous.

A messier side of Versailles than we usually see, but that's OK, 'cause reality is often messy! I especially like the light and the smoke/fog in the air.

Not as glamorous as the the Palace, that's for sure! :))

Could be any city, but I find it hard to believe it is Versailles :)

Like train yards everywhere. Is that a radish on one of the buildings?

I like this spot with all of its trash and “local color.” I don’t think I would have missed the photo op either. Love the old bridge...it has lots of personality.

Looks like a fun place to explore though ;D

sometimes the gritty parts tell a more interesting story. sometimes not. definitely worth photographing, either way.

It's nice to know Versailles is not all beauty but has areas like every other city. You though, create it with the beauty of your craft.

Great shot that stands in stark contrast to the beauty you normally show us.

hee hee...The truth of the railroads is there are always areas like this around them. This is a nice contrast to your usual polished images of Versailles and a welcome contribution to Sunday Bridges.

I like this take on bridges. Not all are picturesque. Thanks for an ugly bridge today!

the wrong side of the tracks!

Interesting to explore the less tidy scenes. For photographers, there is beauty found in the least likely places.

Réalité quand tu nous tiens!

Probably Corot wouldn't have painted this, but a bridge it is!

I agree it's not the most beautiful view of Versailles. But somehow it shows the reality of life. Even the most beautiful of cities must have a darker side.

If someone were shown this photo and told to guess where it is, Versailles would be the last place they would guess.

Maybe you have come upon an idea for a future Daily Photo Theme Day -- the ugliest scene in your town.

Not quite pretty but useful, I am sure.

c'est sur que c'est loin de l'architecture du chateau de Versailles comme lieu ;))

It is life too...we have to take it all..good, bad and ugly. But I prefer the pretty myself. There's something very real and sad about this shot. Although, the big red heart did catch my eye. :)
