Salon des métiers d'art

Over this past weekend, the town hall hosted the local art crafts show with book, porcelain, painting and furniture restorers, sculptors, stained glass... The Ecole Sablé trompe-l'oeil stall attracted a lot of attention, I just love that oval trompe-l'oeil!

I cannot imagine how wonderful the crafts are in Versailles with centuries of history and tradition... would love to see it all!

Hay there, you with d'art in your eyes...

Sorry, just being silly. Glad you liked the hay truck, though.

I'll bet you thoroughly enjoyed this show, too. Even I enjoy going to arts and crafts shows...we have a big one here every October as you know...It sounds like yours and ours are very similar!

Sure, who wouldn't? Trick of the eye, hall of mirrors, made you look. A lesson about perception and physical reality.

What a lovely Town Hall! The trompe-l'oeil is certainly drawing the attention...I always thought that having a wall or room with a trompe-l'oeil painting would be magnificent. I once painted a "window" in my living room, it was simple however, it looked real. And certainly added interest to the wall!

A very interesting show, I really love the trompe-l'oeil as a form of art!

I'd doubt you'd see anything that elegant at a craft fair around these parts, nor would it be held in such an exquisite location.

I can see why that was such a popular booth also. Lovely location for the event too.

A beautiful locale to host such a show. I love trompe l'oeil too, especially on the sides of buildings.
