Fleurs rouges et sapeurs pompiers des Yvelines

Saturday at the flower market: a fireman engaged in conversation with flower vendors. Firemen in France also act as ambulance for certain accidents and they do a fantastic job.

Samedi au marché aux fleurs, un sapeur pompier en grande conversation avec des marchands de fleurs.

These are the true heroes of a modern society. Sadly, they are sometimes being attacked here while doing their difficult job.

They even throw great parties for the 14 juillet...

c'était pour prévoir l'arrosoir des fleurs pendant l'été (beau masquage des yeux du pompier)

They do the same here. In fact they probably fight less fires and render more medical assistance.

Firemen ARE heroes. When everyone else is running out of a burning building, they are running in. Firemen here are also trained as medics (Emergency Medical Technician - EMT) and often save lives that way, too.

I agree with all about the importance of our firemen (and women) and how sad it is that sometimes people see fit to harass them.

This is a great photo...almost surreptitious...through the trees...the color...it's brilliant!

Fireman do some of the rescuing here too, tough we also have a EMS (Emergency Services vehicle) stationed in my village. Firemen deserve tons of positive recognition.

Nice contrast between the red of the fire truck and the red of the flowers.

«Louis» has added a link to your blog at his San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.

Ils essaient surement de vendre des tickets de Tombola du 14 juillet. En tout cas, c'est comme ça en ce moment chez nous. Et, il faut les leur acheter, ils sont toujours là quand on a besoin d'eux.
