Sunday Bridge Series: pont de chemin de fer à Porchefontaine
It had been a while since VDP took part in Sunday Bridge Series. Here's the double arched railway bridge in Porchefontaine neighbourhood, It is made of 'meulière' stone.
This is an amazing structure. It must look huge when you are up close. The lighting for this shot is perfect. The old arched bridges of Europe are beautiful. Lovely shot.
What a beautiful photo - the old stone is gorgeous. Of course, I love trains, so this is just perfect from my point of view! The bridge isn't too high, and it isn't too long, it's just right. My husband wants to see that gigantic bridge at Millau, and we're going to be crossing a long viaduct on the Glacier Express in Switzerland. Those make me nervous. -- K

The arches are magnificent! Truly very interesting to me as they remind me of the gates to Persepolis in some ways...This is a wonderful neighborhood to visit. I also did find the grand stables as I went to your list and see that you did have a photo of the reliefs up close from May 2009. I like the way that you have designed this blogger. Merci!
India is such a wonderful place to travel the adventure tours, Historical monuments, safari tours, Himalayas tracking tours and many more thousands of visitors came across the world to travel India. India Tour Packages .
that's a lovely bridge, such nice stone it's made from!
Thanks for your message on my blog about the sculpture in Leith. I think it's by Anthony Gormley, but next time I'm passing (probably next week) I'll take a note and let you know...
Hi! Re your comment on Florida Fotos - you could just walk in wearing any ol' thing and sit there about as long as you want to...I doubt anyone would bother you. It's a nice building and great place in the summer when it's hot outside.

I love arches! This is the entrance to Varsailles by Train I have been here many times!
It looks as if there are three bridges here altogether.
It's lovely Ciel!
Have a beautiful Sunday:)
this looks pretty cool!
With arches like this, it must be a quaint neighbourhood.
Looks like a place I would love to explore. Great looking bridge! Enjoy your Sunday.
it adds such grace to the neighborhood, doesn't it? arches are so elegant.
That's a beauty of a bridge! It looks like you made good use of your sunny day :)
The arches are very attractive!

It is a charming sight, Ciel, consistent with the quality of other parts of Versailles. The stone is a warm color.

Must be the week for arched bridges :-) It's quite beautiful and has a very interesting and distinctly different texture.
Ciel, this is another shot with lovely depth. I love the color of the brickwork.
the arches are beautiful.
The arches are Amazing and so beautiful. MB
Amazing stone and brick work. Great photo! Love the grand music.
Ooo nice choice! Very beautiful with antiquated gold hues in the stone

Beautiful arches and stones, a really nice bridge, but I'd like it situated in a pedestrian precinct or in the country, without cars...
They certainly are beautiful arches.

What impresses me is someone didn't say, "Hey, it's just a bridge, we don't need anything fancy," but instead designed and built beautiful arches!
Nice shot. Hope you're doing well today!

A bit out of the ordinary for a bridge.
Hi there!
My new header on day4plus is main street of Stanwood from the eastern edge looking west. It was shot last summer at the car show. MB
I like this kind of bridge too. And the light in this photo brings out the color of the stones perfectly!
Beautiful arches...and stone. An excellent way to reintroduce yourself to Sunday bridges.
What a beautiful bridge. It looks so grand, like one of those quilded coaches should be passing under it.
Classic repetition of shapes and lines. I love the warm color of the stone.
Metal and stone, lines and arches.
Beautiful double arches.

I love old architecture. . . especially ones like this.
Every bridge should be this beautiful and strong.
Great design, both from the architect and you, the photographer.
Perfectly composed, Ciel. I like the angle you took on this great shot.

I love bridges, but there's something special about bridges made of stone...and we don't have many of them over on this side of the "pond."
