Les Petites Ecuries du Roi

A winter view of the King's small stables. Until now I had only shown you the big King's stables, which are on the other side of Avenue de Paris. Click on the 'stables' label below for a reminder! There's a strange view of Hoche Place on Artsy Versailles today.

Both nice shots, but a particularly like the first one with all the trees.

It's wonderful to imagine what it would have been like to be a stableboy in the king's small stables.

Both are lovely. And artsy.

I would not want to clean those stables. Nice shot.

Obviously their idea of small is quite different than ours! I like those dark lines of trees against the place.

That king sure must have liked his horses.

Et maintenant, c'est le petit parking du président...grandeur et décadence.

I can only imagine the big stables...

Oh to step back in time and hear the clatter of all those hooves on the cobbles. xxxx

Small eh?! Well for a King I suppose!

Lovely blue skies in these, Ciel, contrasted with the fence and trees.

I love the frieze at the top of the stables with the horses looking as though they are about to take off...this is one of my favorite places in the Chateau area. Strange how the passage of time has changed it so much from its original state...

Wow, what a property! Oh to be royalty, right?
