La grotte du Parc Balbi

Last week I took you to Balbi Park and summarised its history. Here is the grotto, typical of 18th century gardens.

La semaine dernière je vous emmenais au Parc Balbi et en expliquais sommairement l'histoire. En voici la grotte, typique des jardins du XVIIIè siècle.

What an idyllic place.

Looks quite nice but I'd be afraid it's infested with mosquitoes and alligators!

I wonder if this wonderful place keeps this lush green even in the heat of summer...

It looks so inviting--like a secret garden. Not icky as Jacob insinuates. LOL MB

Jacob, I don't think they have alligators in France. That makes this so much more appealing! I can imagine sitting here listening to *nothing* :-)

They definitely loved grottos in the 18th century! Beautiful spot!

I can feel the holidays coming on! No alligators, but what about ticks?

My eyesight just got a little better just from seeing all this green! I like how even the water is green :-)

Not far from here there's a similar pond, where a heron used to live. We haven't seen him for a while now, possibly he went to the South of France or Italy for holidays...
God bless you!
