Le bassin du dragon

This is a detail of the dragon's basin in the palace grounds. The young Apollo kills the snake Python with a single arrow. I shall be away for a fortnight, I would have liked to schedule some posts but the functionality has stopped working since mid-June and still isn't fixed. See you in two weeks and enjoy July! Oh, and those who might be around could check out the picnic in the palace grounds on July 14, French National Day (or Bastille day I believe it is called) from 11:30 am. More info on the palace website which I can't seem to get to switch to English right now.

Wonderful shot, Ciel. The light is magnificent. I am frustrated, though, 'cause you keep showing all these beautiful things which we must have missed when we were there.

I guess we're going to have to make another trip!

Have a wonderful time. Hope you are healing well. Take lots of good photos! It just ain't gonna be the same without you on CDP!

I think scheduled posting is fixed. Mine went up at the proper time this morning.

This is a wild, imaginative sculpture and well captured. Apollo looks like he is 8 years old. The sea monster looks like one of those mutant fish that live in polluted rivers.

We'll miss you but enjoy your holiday.

An exciting and beautiful scene. I miss the grand mythology artworks, but the rabbis would never allow such a thing in Israel.
Have a good time away. Be careful should you meet any dragons or pythons. :)

Bonnes vacances !
