Bleuets

It's cornflower time at the flower market! I love cornflowers though they are so rarely found these days out in the fields.
-----------------------------

Strangely in Italian this is called fiordaliso. (Nothing to do with the fleur de lys...)

Shows how much I know! I thought cornflowers would be yellow.

I love cornflowers, too. Here they are annuals but they do reseed themselves if I don't mess around too much with the soil in my gardens.

Hate to say it, but, I have never heard of them. Very pretty, though.

Ladies and gents: cornflowers ARE blue! At least the ones that used to grow wild with poppies in the fields when I was a child! It was so pretty, red and blue amidst the wheat...

Delightful photo of vibrant blue flowers. Makes me want to drive to the store and try to find something similar to put on my kitchen table.
In preparation for my visit, I have just watched Le Roi Soleil for the third time and am reading one biography of Louis XIV and have another one ordered.

Salut mon amie! In fact, I did help Aref get his Afghanistan blog registered with CDP so I'm also surprised that it didn't show up on the CDP site?? C'est bizarre, je sais!

Bon weekend! Bonjour d'EAGAN daily photo
