La maison Fabre

Maison Fabre gantier Versailles Cour des Senteurs
VDP had another contender for yesterday's Theme Day. This is la Maison Fabre, glove maker since 1924. The Versailles branch is located in the Scents Courtyard. There's double luxury and style here, as the first picture is taken out of the window looking towards the gorgeous Guerlain shop!

The lady in yellow was having a peek inside. To see a better view of the shop from the outside, visit VP's blog A Bunch of Benches here!

Madame en jaune jetait un œil à l'intérieur. Pour voir une meilleure vue de la boutique de l'extérieur, faites un petit tour sur le blog de bancs de VP en cliquant ici !

That looks like a fabulously stylish shop, really lovely pictures. Numbers 1 and 3 are my favourites just love them..

For some odd reason the first thing that came to mind were the words of a song "Hands across the water . . . " :-)

I have several pairs of red leather gloves but one can never have too many! These all look so gorgeous!

I like the hands floating in the air, but the wedding dress was the right choice for the then.

I love the old sewing machine and the smell of the shop must be amazing.

Nicely looking store.

Fabre is a surrealist. There is something Dali-esque about the display.

I'm sure 'yellow lady' would find the perfect coloured pair of gloves to compliment her outfit!

pas la peine de prendre des gants pour visiter cette maison

Je rêverais de glisser ma main dans un de ces luxueux gants... juste pour la sensation ...

I would go in just to smell the leather.

Lovely! Glove shops are an "endangered species" here. Actually I can only think of one survivor: http://oeirasdailyphoto.blogspot.pt/2013/05/ulisses-glove-shop.html

All those lovely gloves! You know we are just heading into winter, how 'handy' would they be :)

Oh I love the gloves - especially the yellow ones with the bows... I can almost see them on my hands ;)

I can't think of a single glove shop here in the states. I'm amazed that this one is still going strong. And, I'm betting those gloves feel very soft when you put them on.

Certainly a stylish shop! I'd love to own a pair of those fringed gloves. Red for me, please. :)

Well, that's all very nice but the real question is, do they make golf gloves? :)

I'd admire the things in the window, maybe drool a little at the prospect of owning something from the shop, but would be too intimidated to enter. Don't think I'd pass the implied dress code.
