Uh oh! Has it been so hot there the sidewalk melted when you walked on it?

Actually, that has happened in several places in the U.S. this summer. The latest figures show 2011 was the hottest year on record for the lower 48 states. And we've broken heat records in state after state this year already.

Global warming is here - with a vengeance!
