Square des Chantiers

Square des Chantiers playground. Those who have been following VDP for a while know that June is Molière month, honoring the great playwright with a great many theatrical events all over the city. On 17 June, I decided to check out a couple of them. When I arrived at the first venue, nothing, the gates were closed. I had a look at the programme and came to this square. Nothing either. I don't know what happened, why the plays were cancelled even though for once, it wasn't raining... I had intended to try again yesterday but the pouring rain and the cold got the better of me...

That is strange! Wonder what happened?? Great shot of the park! Sorry to hear you're having weather like the Seattle, although it is very nice today, warm, not hot, lovely skies and puffy clouds, but who knows what tomorrow will bring???? Have a great week regardless of the weather though, Ciel!

Sounds like someone goofed! Nice playground, though. Sorry about the rain and the cold. It's not cold here, but it's raining, raining, raining. We've had almost 3 inches so far and will probably double that by Wednesday. We're getting pounded by Tropical Storm, soon to be Hurricane, Debby which is expected to land north or us and head northeast.

No real problem, except possible tornadoes. Yikes! But that's what you get for living in Florida!

I'm bummed, I wonder what happened? I'm sorry to hear it's cold and rainy, it's 30C here, a little too warm.

I wish they had playgrounds like this when I was young. Oh what the heck lets go for it.

Maybe the players had all been reading The Misanthrope and decided the audience wasn't worth their bother. Lovely picture, by the way.

Maybe it has been raining so much that the promoters didn't have any confidence that the weather would be good enough. Bummer.

Sorry to hear about your weather. We are in the 90's here in Kentucky. Great looking playground and I am sure many happy memories have been made there.

Well, you got a photo, and a story, so the day wasn't completely wasted, but it's too bad about the plays.

Sorry to hear about the bad weather. It's been unusually hot and sunny here. Sorry that the plays were cancelled. Life doesn't always stick to the schedule.

Keep us posted about the plays.

Love the way all of the visual interest is centered in this photo and the greenery frames the photo. Another fabulous post, as usual!

Have you figured out who goofed? Whatever happened to "the show must go one"? The kids don't seem to mind... Hope your summer weather has improved. I'm basking in the balmy 30C+ in Manila...

Cold? Pouring rain? They are ready for us, I see!

How very strange. It seems that there would certainly be quite a few people there to celebrate Moliere. Did you see anyone else waiting around?

That is odd and too bad about the play! I wonder what happened? Regardless, love this beautiful shot. We're also rained in terribly here, everyone's got rain on the brain!

Lovely image Ciel, for some reason the vibrant colour made me think of a Noddy and Big Ears story! Sorry to her about your awful weather, anyday now it'll be gorgeous you'll see!!
