Une histoire de cheminées

During a walk last weekend, I suddenly noticed all these chimneys! Those on this smaller photo remind me of an organ! The dome on the left of the large photo is that of Saint Joan of Arc church.

Le weekend dernier, soudain, j'ai vu plein de cheminées ! Celles sur la photo de gauche me font penser à un orgue. Le dôme, visible à gauche ci-dessus, est celui de l'église Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc.

Terrific shots. I especially like the larger one.

I love chimneys, and isn't it funny how we notice things we've been looking at for awhile? In a dry climate, I used to see things after it had rained.

Good eye, as they say. I suppose back in those days they had a warmer or fireplace in almost every room to try to keep the drafty old place warm.

No my camera is not a telescope. Just a regular digital with an OK zoom. I practice too. It is a Canon powershot SX20. MB

You're right. They look like organ pipes! Wouldn't it be funny if the house started playing Bach??

Nice couple of shots, I remember quite interesting chimneys in Versailles.

Well, I'm glad this post didn't go 'up in smoke'. Those are two beautifully lit shots.

The little chimneys in the second picture look like they're wearing umbrellas. Tree in the foreground is beautiful.

LOL, you are so right! The second shot does look like a pipe organ. I wonder why there are so many? The tree blooming in the foreground is very pretty

The dome on St. Koan of Arc is very interesting.

Good analogy - the small chimneys reminding you of organ pipes and the dome of the église being part of the image above!

there does seem to be a lot of chimneys for a single building. Every room must have a fireplace or stove. It is a great looking building.

There is a lot of character in old chimneys.

Je peux pas la laisser passer celle là : quel bel organe !

Les cheminées de PARIS se voient bien depuis les derniers étages et la terrasse du Printemps. Elles me font penser à Mary Poppins.

Avant de m'en aller parceque le vent à tourné, je tiens à ajouter que j'aime bien le moderne avec des rondeurs et les arbres blanchis sous le harnois.
