Sign Series IX: le relais de poste

Coaching Inn buggy sign Versailles
Located on the corner of Avenue de Paris and Estates General street, this is a café whose sign VDP loves! It translates as the postal coaching inn. More Signs are this way!

Au coin de la rue des Etats-Généraux et de l'Avenue de Paris (enfin presque).

It's wonderful Ciel! Now that I have seen your beautiful city of Versailles for myself, I find I am appreciating all of your pictures so much more. I truly hope that the next time I visit, it will not be so rushed and we will be able to meet. Thank you so much for all of your comments on my European adventures on FB, even the falling down incidents! My knee is slowing getting better.

Looks like a good photo for the sign meme! It's very elegant. We have a number of old buildings that were coach inns, one of which I drive by several times each day, built in 1760.

Evocative of those days when inns also doubled as post offices.

That's a cool sign. Must be old since coach inns haven't been needed in a long time.

Probably took awhile to make that sign and make it to where it wasn't too heavy.
