Sunday Bridge Series: au hameau de la reine

This little bridge is to be found at the hamlet that queen Marie-Antoinette had built for her enjoyment in the palace grounds. A contribution to Louis la Vache's Sunday Bridge Series. The reason why I took this photo so low was that naturally, the bridge was full of visitors. You can see some of their reflections in the water.

I wish I had the land to say, "build me a bridge for my enjoyment"! Pretty little thing, this one.

Soooo pretty! And again the history that goes with it, how amazing.

PS - Even if I waited for each rain to do a puddle series, the rain is so few and far between here that you'd be asking "Whatever happened to your puddle series?"! :) I envy your cool temps and rain. Perhaps you should do a puddle photo...

I'd love to have a bridge like that built for me! Very nice! Enjoy the day.

This is adorable! As well as the words "hamlet" and "little bridge". I'm guessing Marie was not so adorable though? :-) I like the arch. It opens like a MOUTH ready to eat a big piece of CAKE. :-)

Do you pretend to be the queen when you are there? Of course, you will be a good queen, and not say," Let them eat cake."

It is a 'sweet' little bridge and the surroundings are the frosting on the cake. Enjoy! MB

You could have gotten double-duty out of this by also posting it for Weekend Reflections...

Beautifully framed and nice reflection too. I like the low angle, it works.

It makes a lovely reflection...and the visitors are definitely anonymous.

Aww, come on, we want to see the tourists!

That is a very interesting looking bridge. The reflection give is an oval-looking opening

Et sous le pont il y a beaucoup de carpes. Je les ai photographiées et le pont aussi (dans son ensemble) au début de mon blog :
