Le buffet d'eau

Presenting the Carrara and Languedoc marble 'Water Buffet' in the gardens of Grand Trianon, Neptune and Amphitrite at the top. It was designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart. Water only rarely flows here, but you can watch a video of the delightful cascades here.

@ Gregory and Small City Scenes: I don't really know, most of the fountains don't work most of the time.

Who needs water? It's enough just to look at the beautiful sculptures and the overall grandeur of the fountain!

Re your question on Ocala: Cody's is supposed to be an old-fashioned roadhouse, where you get peanuts on the table to eat before you meal arrives and you can throw the shells on the floor. Lots of beer; southern-fried food like chicken and shrimp, big steaks, etc. :)

With or without water, it's still magnificent!

Sooner or later I would like to see some water from these fountains. No luck the last time...

Such an interesting fountain. So much to look upon. Beautiful with the water flowing.

Gosh it looks magnificent when the water's flowing Ciel, but maybe if they had more of a soft flow rather than such a gush they would be able to let it run more often non?
p.s. merci beaucoup for the Georges Brassens-Les amoureux des bancs publics link, I loved it :)

It's too bad it doesn't cascade more because it's a gorgeous flow! Also a very lovely wonderful fountain and images:) Talk about sumptuous marble!

The top part is fantastic! Same problem here with the water flow, I don't get it.
