A short break from the Grand Trianon series as today is Assumption of Mary day and it is a holiday. What I believe to be the Virgin Mary is to be found in the wall niche of the building you can see on the left of this photo (the one with the sign).

Such an interesting capture for the day, Ciel! I can see her. Hope your week is going well.
I'm intrigued by the "Hazard" in that sign from the previous photo:) Back to the present day, it indeed looks like the Virgin Mary, especially enlarged with those rays of light(?) behind her head. (Yes, I think you're right - the iPhone rescues me from Medieval Age-dom, there's hope yet!:)
Well, of course it is! Or maybe it's a pizza that got splashed on the glass. God knows! :)
On this day of assumption, I'm going to assume you have a great imagination!
Mon dieu !
Beautiful find.
Great spot, and shot!
Such an unusual and beautiful way to display artwork. The texture in the paint is great..
On en a bien pris soin ici de Marie, bien protégée et une niche bien décorée.
Our government abolished four holidays, two civilian and two religious, but today's was kept.
Enjoy the Mariahimmelfahrt day!!! ;)
"Hail Mary... " I've said enough of those for my sins.
perfect choice!
We have many of these, but no one is decorated like this niche!
I forgot that! My Dad died on August 15th so that is the memory I have. I was 12---but I have a long memory. It looks like it should be Mary.
I would like a huge fountain at my castle. LOL MB
Very cool find! Also, I learned something new because I don't think I've ever heard of the assumption of Mary.
A national holiday in France? What happened to the secular state? I sure wasn't aware of it here and I was raised in a Catholic family.
Happy Assumption of Mary day Ciel, enjoy the long weekend :)
