Alfred Chauchard

This is Alfred Chauchard (1821-1909), a businessman and important patron of the Louvre museum as seen by sculptor Henri Weingele. An interesting read about him (in French) is this way. This statue stands near his former Versailles home, which you can see at the end of the road in this picture. More about the building and the surrounding streets when I get the chance to go back...
