Ciel d'hiver au Petit Trianon

Ciel d'hiver Petit Trianon Versailles winter sky
You'll have to forgive VDP, she likes winter skies and bare trees, here at Petit Trianon castle in Marie-Antoinette's estate...

I agree. My favorite, though, is the cloudless winter sky, so pure without water vapor and dust.

Something in common... Here the wind is blowing so hard the parks are closed.

In the winter with the trees stripped bare you can see so much more. You certainly get a different perspective......providing the recent heavy rain doesn't obsure a beautiful scene.

I have this shot of a tree in the fog that I took a few weeks ago, but I haven't been motivated to post it. I think you have provided the necessary kick in the pants, because I really like these.

Gale force winds here and very, very clean skies...

No forgiveness from me as I, too, prefer leafless trees set against angry skies or stately architecture. Trees with leaves just block the view and cast large shadow blobs.

I don't blame you, that is an amazing looking sky.

Love those silhouettes against the wonderful skies.

I love winter skies and bare trees too. Except that we haven't had too many winter skies yet.

The light in winter is wonderful - when it isn't cloudy! ;-)
