Gelée !

Frozen waterfall Petit Trianon Versailles
There aren't a great many waterfalls in Versailles and VDP isn't even sure this qualifies! Being a winter lover, VDP couldn't resist a long walk in Marie-Antoinette's estate in the palace grounds on Saturday. The weather was gorgeously perfect, cold and sunny and... er... VDP took loads -I mean, loads- of photos! Now normally this would be a charming trickle of water under this old bridge which you had seen here in the summer way back in 2010! The shallow river was completely frozen this last weekend!

What a great place, lovely little island in the river and charming old bridge, like the waterfall picture as well. Hope you enjoyed the walk.

Amazing that it was frozen like that! You must have been really bundled up for your walk. I love those icicles.

A fine series of photos. It's a beautiful spot. And I'd say any time you have falling water, you have a waterfalls! :)

Brrr...

Well, sure. If you're Marie-Antoinette, why not jus order your own waterfall to suit. :-)

It looks very cool (no pun intended). I feel inspired to poke holes in the ice.
