Olympiades du Vivre Ensemble

Saturday was a coldish, rainy and windy day for the 5th 'living together' olympiad which was held at Montbauron stadium and swimming pool (the latter is just about visible in the distance in the second photo). It is a day of competition and enjoying other people's company for both mentally and physically handicapped people. VDP just wishes that the weather had been better for all those who came... and also for the photos!

I've seen people racing on bikes rather similar to those. They can get really fast when they want to. You capture the track well!

That's too bad about the weather but it's one element that cannot be controlled. Your photos are excellent, though. Love that first one. I'd like to own one of those "bikes." Sounds like a wonderful event for all concerned.

These are always such wonderful events.

But you get nice, saturated photos on cloudy days. No harsh shadows. Looks like the event was well attended.

I'm so glad to see your excellent photos of this event. My friend maintains all the bicycles for the bike races at the Iowa Special Olympics. Everyone involved has a great time. All are winners.

What a terrific event and I, too, am so glad to see your photos! And, yes, it is indeed a wonderful event for all concerned! I worked with the disabled for three years when these programs were just getting started for them and what a long way they have come!! Thank you!!

Too bad about the weather, but it's nice to see so many people came out anyway. All of our athletes should be appreciated and celebrated! :)
