La chaussée scintille

No, the street wasn't wet, not at all. And yet there are lots of little shiny particles on the surface, like mica! By the time VDP was ready to take the pic, the cyclist was almost out of the frame...

Non elle n'était pas mouillée, pas du tout, mais pleine de petites particules telles du mica ! VDP n'a pas été assez rapide, le temps de faire le réglage et le cycliste était presque sorti du champ...

Amazing how you caught the twinkle of the little stars. So what are they, do you think? I was going to say you could have chased the cyclist but that's probably not true at the moment. :) Hope you recovering well!
