A la gaîté

Gaîté translates as joyfulness, gaiety, cheerfulness, playfulness... If you were standing with VDP looking at à la gaîté café, you'd have Notre-Dame covered market behind you and the antiques district to your right! This sign tells us that there have been food and drink here for a long time!

Nothing wrong with a little gaiety. Come to think of it, nothing wrong with a lot of gaiety.

Send some gaiety this way - it'll brighten any dreary winter!:) Lovely place, would enjoy poking around antiques nearby too.

Makes me thing of Gaîté Parisienne. Not enough room for a can-can.

It appears to be a delightful little place and so much nicer than all the chain cafes and restaurants we have in this country. Unique is sometimes good in and of itself. I would think, though, you French folks are more hardy than I, sitting outside in the winter to eat and drink! :)

I am feeling happier just looking at it! Have you tried this place before? I bet it's nice in spring/summer.

To sit outside in February they must be cheerful and optimistic...
