Livres trésors

These photos were taken at the maze exhibition. The 1674 manuscript book of Charles Perrault's 'Versailles Labyrinth' belonged to king Louis XIV. Left is a superb 1566 book of Aesop's fables. Finally, below, la Fontaine's fables in a 1755-1759 edition.

Ces photos ont été prises à l'expo Le Labyrinthe de Versailles. Ci-dessus, le livre manuscrit de Charles Perrault (1674) sur le labyrinthe, exemplaire personnel de Louis XIV. A gauche, un superbe ouvrage de 1566 des fables d'Esope. Ci-dessous, les Fables de la Fontaine dans une édition de 1755-1759.

Those are fantastic. The labor costs that went into producing these works could never be replicated in today's economies. Now, these would have to be on a web site... with advertising.
