This is Jean Delumeau, member of the Institut de France. He in one of the plethora of renowned authors who were autographing their books at the history book show. A delightful old gentleman who was an absolute joy to talk with. His autographed book will be under the Christmas tree this year, because VDP thinks her Dad will love it. Good thing Dad never checks VDP!

Nice portrait. Monsieur Delumeau looks like a pleasant fellow. And, I love the idea of an autographed book as a gift. I still love real books! By the way, thanks for the welcome back!
I agree, it is a very nice portrait.
Heehee, it looks like your Dad will enjoy a nice Christmas surprise!:) A very sweet portrait and, again, how lucky.
He looks erudite and charming. Reminds me a bit of my uncle who, towards the end of his career, was editor of the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
I admire people who write books. It takes such attention and concentration. Photography is better for people like me with short attention spans.
I'm sure he was an interesting man to talk with. Let's hope Papa likes the present!
A splendid portrait!

It's a beautiful portrait! What a wonderful opportunity, glad that you enjoy this event!

What a super personal touch Ciel, you're Dad will love it. Would be funny if this was the time he felt he should read VDP :))
I hope your dad will indeed be delighted!
