Une vue différente de Louis XIV

Statue Louis XIV Versailles Notre Dame
The equestrian statue of king Louis XIV in front of the palace is photographed by millions of tourists every year, most of whom only stay for a two or three hours tour of the palace, skipping the city altogether. VDP has shown it to you a great many times looking towards the palace or the setting sun, in the summer or the snow, in detail or from further away (see all photos by clicking here.) This time, VDP took another angle, looking towards beautiful Notre-Dame de Versailles church! Apologies to VDP's very faithful reader who will dislike this black and white photograph!

Another interesting perspective.

It is hard to come up with new views of things that get photographed regularly. A real challenge but worth it when one works like yours did.

I like this shot and I promise the next time I go to Paris, on my trip to Versailles I will spent time checking out the town as well as the palace.

I'm glad I', not the VDP reader that dislikes B&W photos. ;)) Sometimes it's the best way to show something, at least that's what I think.

Well, it's not this reader that is disappointed in B&W ! Well done !

Apologies accepted! I would prefer 'not see the reason of' to 'dislike'...

I think you probably have a couple of readers who aren't so fond of black and white, but I'm not one of them. :) Great shot.

I, on the other hand, adore black and white, especially this shot!

No, I like it very much as I do all your photographs. I love reading about Versailles, the whole city not just the palace. I fell in love with it two years ago. Not visiting this year sadly but hopefully next. Enjoy your break, jane x
