La gare de Montreuil

A photo of Montreuil train station taken last Friday evening. Trains run from Versailles Rive Droite station to Paris Saint-Lazare via la Défense. There is a sign on Artsy Versailles.

This train station looks like from a theme park!

belle petite architecture, mais je trouve pas que cela ressemble a une gare

What lovely architecture - I probably wouldn't mind commuting to work so much if I got to see this each morning :) (And hurray for sun, what a summer you've been having!)

Ich würde so gerne reisen, reisen, reisen ... Sieht sowohl modern, als auch klassisch schön aus.

Einen tollen Dienstag dir.

Beautiful architecture indeed! What a great looking station! I wouldn't mind riding public transportation either if it looked like this! Hope your week is off to a good start!

I have always wanted to take a train trip and I can't think of a better place to start.

How convenient to have a nice train to take you to Paris! Nice to see some blue sky's too!

I like this architecture.

There is lots of charm in this train station. The French do a pretty good job of making utilitarian structures attractive. The Metro has been world famous for a long time.

We have taken the train from Paris to Versailles several times, but I don't remember the train station looking like this. Maybe there is more than one station. The station we used was just a few blocks from the Palace, just across, I am sorry to say, from a McDonald's.

@ Dave: there are 5 train stations in Versailles, 4 of which you can see on this blog by clicking the 'train station' label.
The station you are referring to is 'rive gauche'. Not only McDonald's but also Starbucks. It's funny to watch the tourists heading from the station right into these two places!

Il y aurait une etude a faire sur l'architecture des gares de Banlieue, les anciennes et nouvelles, jolies ou pas , pratiques ou pas . .

Lovely to see some blue in your sky Ciel, even if it was last Friday. Is this the metro station you would use if you were heading into Paris, and being curious..how long would it take?

From the station, we headed straight to Starbucks!

I like the way you composed this - great light thru the green canopy! Now that sky doesn't look bad!

Thanks for all your comments this morning! You must have gotten up early! ;-)

Re the big, bad cloud on Stone Creek - no rain. Usually we get rain in the afternoons during the summer but not that day. I used a fisheye effect on my Canon S95.

I like the green arch-y thingie! Saint Lazare is one of my favourite stations in Paris. But when I went to Versailles, I usually took the RER from Montparnasse.
