Août à Versailles V

Yesterday I showed you the ghost street in Montreuil neighbourhood. Thank goodness for the small convenience groceries!

Oh, yes! What would we do without those! That one looks better than any of the ones here, though! The dog looks like my sons dog! Colorful shot, Ciel!

Luckily there are some Juilletistes in the neighborhood. ;)

Nice looking produce and pup.

These little places are important in many neighborhoods, but I don't think I have ever been in one in the USA.

Oh, they remind me of the 'bodegas' or little delis in NYC! They're life savers too. I would love to browse those colorful shelves.

Looks like a colorful selection of fresh goods, a very nice capture of like in the city.

Well, that's better! I thought none of these places were open. Love the kid and the skateboard and the dog. Some things are the same the world over!

You just reminded me that I have to do some shopping before Ferragosto!

Good things to eat, and a dog to pet. What more could one ask?

So, where do people actually go for their August vacation?

@ Oakland DP: I'd guess France mostly, coasts and mountains, also Spain. I'm sure some of the luckier ones are roaming the streets of NYC (I know someone who is flying out today) or flying over the Grand Canyon!

Such a lovely scene Ciel, a boy and his dog...and only in France would you find a youngster looking to choose fruit instead of lollies haha!
