Sécurité Sociale

A former convent, now a building of the Yvelines Department (of which Versailles is 'county town') social security, on Avenue de Paris. It is located almost opposite this other convent.

La Sécurité Sociale des Yvelines, département dont Versailles est le chef-lieu, est logée dans un ancien couvent de l'avenue de Paris. Il se trouve presque en face de cet autre couvent.

The leaves in Versailles are slowly changing color. This is a classically beautiful building. In the USA, governmental agencies in many cities (other than Washington) are in cheap and bland buildings.

Well, as you know, that's how I make my living (nowhere else in the world would it be possible). Our SS offices look more like blockhouses than this elegant structure.

One of my goals in life when I was in grade school was to become a nun. I would have loved it if this was where I was placed :D

I love the autumn trees in your foreground and the wonderfully 'French' building in the back. Wonderful to 'meet' you in your lovely blog XOLaura

The trees provide a beautiful, colorful canape.

We're past peak colors and flipped the clocks back :-(

A lovely building in a gorgeous setting and I think that ye olde convent has been put to a higher purpose! :-)

A better purpose might have been a fudge factory! Heh, heh!

Love the fall colors in the foreground and the white building behind. Awesome job.

OBTW . . . at work there is a poster with a photo of a girl on it and I would swear it's the same photo as your avatar. Is that a picture of you? If

I like this charming view through the autumn leaves toward the indigenous architecture of Versailles. When I was young, my family lived in townhouses in Cincinnati, Ohio called Versailles. They were nothing like this! I think they were trying to convince us Ohioans we were living in France :^) They didn't fool me. I was too smart for that, I think...

Nothing is better than trees in autumn framing an elegant building.

I see your leaves are turning in France, too. This is a lovely shot...such a beautiful structure. I love the idea that it is a former convent. I wonder what happened to the nuns. genie
