Wednesday Doorway: Saint-Louis
The main door of Saint-Louis cathedral. This morning I shall hit the road for a week in Quimper where limited access to the web is the rule, yet I will try not to miss your New Year's posts and VDP continues while I'm away!----------------------------

Though nowadays not the main entrance of the Préfecture building (Versailles being the seat of the administrative department of "Yvelines", number 78 in the list of French departments), this is the grand courtyard entrance. More about the building when I show you general views, as it is in fact a particularly beautiful one.
--------------------------------------

Today the theme is white: a pretty antiques shop in Saint-Louis neighbourhood and a rare sight: the snow plough last Thursday on the Avenue des Etats-Unis.Monday, 21 December 2009

The prettiest Christmas decorations are to be found in Saint-Louis neighbourhood, around the street lamps! Oops, yes, I took these photos last week... before it snowed! Sunday, 20 December 2009

Weekend Reflections: lumières dans les fenêtres
Christmas lights reflected in windows for James' Weekend Reflections. The temperature dropped to about 23°F/-5°C at midnight, it's beginning to feel really Christmassy!Friday, 18 December 2009
Vous avez déjà votre sapin ?

It snowed quite heavily yesterday. I spent over 5 hours in my car trying to get to and from work. Absolute chaos due to ice, snow and public transport strikes. Still, thanks to my boss, because I live pretty far away from the office, I got to go home early and managed to sneak to the flower market. Not many flowers but lots of trees!---------------------------------------

An alpine chalet in Versailles? No! There's an environmentally correct skating rink just outside the town hall! No real ice, so no huge electrical expense. Strange but cool in Copenhagen days!Sunday, 13 December 2009

'Tis holly time. This one stands above a very simple and quite old tomb at Gonards cemetery. This tomb I liked in all its simplicity because of the bench beside it.Monday, 7 December 2009
I have shown you several inside and outside views of Saint-Symphorien church in the past, which you can see if you click on the label below. I like the elegant, soft Christmas lights!Sunday, 6 December 2009

Exposition Louis XIV
For those of you who are interested, the palace is hosting an exhibition on Louis the 14th until Feb. 7, 2010. As of yet, I've not had enough time to go. Or enough courage to brave the crowds!Friday, 4 December 2009

December City Daily Photo Theme Day: Waiting

Waiting is a theme that didn't inspire me much and I had very little time to go in search of inspiration. So here goes: waiting for the prescription at a city centre chemist's and waiting to be served at la Maison Beaudet. Happy Theme Day.Click here to view thumbnails for all participants
