This small public garden is located behind what I believe is former Récollets convent, the building above. More about its history by clicking here.
The Récollets convent was built in 1684 as planned by Jules Hardouin-Mansart. The Franciscan monks of this monastery were army chaplains appointed by the king. During the French Revolution, the building was converted into a prison. Now a military property, only the façade and cloister remain.
Avenue de Paris, yesterday afternoon, the convent of the serving sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I'm not sure the translation is right, but it's literal enough! When I came home from the dentist's at around 9:00 pm, the temperature had dropped to about 20°F/-6°C.
